The parish of All Saints was created
from St Thomas' Brightside in 1869 with the church
building being financed by Sir John Brown. The benefice was suspended in 1972 and the parish became a chapelry under the care of St Cuthbert, Fir Vale. All Saints' Church was demolished in 1978 and in 1980 a new church - St Peter, Ellesmere (joint Anglican and Methodist) was dedicated. Records of Baptisms and Marriages began in 1869. |
